BEST HOMEMADE SALAMI COMPETITION

The Leo Franco Motors and Casella Family Brands “Best Homemade Salami Competition.”
The title of “King of the Salami makers” is a fiercely contested title in Griffith; it is a very serious matter, and the rivalry between Northern and Southern Italians is as hotly debated as the State of Origin rugby league contest.
The competition was initiated by Roy Catanzariti and Tony Fattore arguing about which region made the best salami, and the challenge was accepted.
Twenty years down the track, the argument continues, is there someone brave enough from out of town to try to wrest the trophy away from the locals?
It hasn’t happened yet, many have tried, but as they say, “maybe just maybe, you could be good enough to win.” Could it be you?
Come and see how the entries are judged; you may be lucky enough to sample a couple of the entries and sing a tune with Joe Staltare and Jim Salvestro at the Yoogali Club.
